The wedding day is approaching but before that, there is a bridal shower that needs to be celebrated. Bridal showers a perfect time to bond with the bride-to-be before her single-hood will end. Traditionally, bridal shower parties are hosted by a friend, a family member or a colleague. The purpose of throwing a bridal shower is to help the bride get ready for the new chapter of her life Basically, she will be showered with tons of gifts, and most of them are household items. There are so many things the hostess should consider. First is to determine the budget. You have to make sure that in every step you make, it should be according to your desired budget to avoid overspending. Next, you should have a theme for the party, so you need to reckon of the theme that best describes bride’s interest and personality.
Third is to make a guest list. In making a guest list, reckon about the bride. Determine who should be invited by discussing it with the bride, for as long as this is not a surprise party. After that, you can then make and send invitations. Don’t forget to choose invitations that complements the theme of the party. Make sure you got each guest’s mailing address right as well. Also, send it ahead of time, sending invitations two to three weeks before is enough for your guests to prepare.
You will also need to choose where the party will be held. Will it be at home? If the bride has a spacious somewhere in her house, then you can probably have it there. This is a very excellent option if you have a limited budget for you don’t have to worry about rental fees for the location. But, if this is not the case, you can use other venues like a friend’s pool side or garden. Other location include, bars, restaurants, sports field or basketball court, golf course and the likes. But these venues often requires rental fees.
The fifth consideration is all about the food. What should you serve on the table? Basically, the time of the day will tell you what type food you should prepare. And of course it should be according to your budget. You can have a sit-down meal if the budget is not an issue for you. Otherwise, go for a pot-lock or a buffet meal.
Next is to prepare ice-breakers. Plot what shower games can throw a huge laugh to everyone. There are so many traditional games that can jazz up the party. Most of these games are related to the bride and groom. You can buy the materials of the games at your local party stores or online.
Lastly, plot the bridal shower gifts. Usually, the hostess is exempted of giving gifts to the bride but the rest are not. But, not only the bride will be given gifts, in fact she also need give gifts for bridesmaids and maid of honor.
