Look Honey, parents paying or not, its your wedding, this mother needs putting in her place. It is not her day, it is yours.

Tell her nicely that you don’t want what you don’t want, when she throws it back in your face that their paying, say ‘fine, then don’t bother at all, we’ll go off quietly and get married our way’.

Honestly, call her bluff, the woman is plain showing off to her friends etc, and is not giving you the respect of your own choice on such an vital day of your life. The playing cards do look nice and much better than coasters.

Many congratulations to you and your soon to be husband, I wish you both the best of everything and continual happiness – but only have Mum over once a week at most.

it’s your wedding so this is something which you and your partner should choose.

personally I don’t really like these playing cards…but this is just my opinion and I wouldn’t reckon less of the wedding if I’m given these wedding favors. I haven’t seen the coasters so I can’t really comment but they don’t seem very appealing to me. I’m sure you can find something better.

Issues with wedding favors…….. your opinions please…?
So for our wedding favors, we chose to do a candy bar/buffet.. we got 13 different vases (all different sizes and shapes). I found this thought online and fell in like with it.. My mom is a completely different tale though. She feels that it is a dumb thought.. But being my wedding she is “letting” us do this..

Problem comes in now.. she says in addition to the candy bar she wants to have coaster favors for each family (not person).

I do not reckon its necessary to have the additional favor. We are already paying enough for the candy bar.. But she is insistent on it. I personally do not like the coasters she has picked out but I go along with it…

My parents are paying for the majority of the wedding and my fiancé’s parents paid for some of it too.. I paid for my dress, cake, and a few other things. (our wedding is only going to be about 13,000 total).

My mom is having me pay for these coasters (favors), which I wouldn’t mind as much but I don’t like them.. I came up with a different thought instead after some looking… They are nearly a 100 dollars cheaper too..

Personalized playing cards… What do ya’ll reckon?

The age range that will be at our wedding is late 20’s to mid 40’s. (my fiancé and I are in our early 20’s)
