kids party games ideas….?

It’s for my daughters 1st birthday. I know she’s too young to participate. But there will be ALOT of kids there, ages 3-13. So I need some thoughts for games to entertain them. We’re already doing a pinata, face painting, and we’re doing flower pott decorating(sending home with soil and seeds to double as a party favor). the party theme is "spring".

Sounds fun! Since it’s spring, are you going to be outdoors if it’s nice? I used to like pass the water balloon. two people stand toe to toe and pass a water balloon back and forth taking a step back with each toss. The winner is whom ever gets the furthest apart when the balloon breaks. Another fun one is a relay where the teams race to one end of the yard, eat a cracker(saltines) and whistle before racing back for the next person to go. Have a fantastic party.

my sister used to be a YMCA day camp counciler. the kids favorite game was ‘murder tongue.’

stand all the kids in a circle and send one of them (the detective) out of the room. then the kids have to pick a ‘murderer’. the detective comes back into the middle of the circle and the murderer has to be sneaky about sticking their tongue out at the other kids (that’s how they’re ‘murdered’) the detective has to catch the kid sticking their tongue out and the kids who get ‘murdered’ should act out a dramatic death!

    it’s a small morbid but i would’ve liked it when i was a kid.

pin the tail on the donkey. drop marbles into a milk bottle, or any other small mouthed bottle, musical chairs, pop the balloon.(everybody sits on a half inflated balloon. first one who manages to pop it, wins. egg hunt( with other articles, finder gets tokeep the first one they find and help the others all find one.)

you could play several outside games such as freeze tag or find the certain type of grass tree rock etc. other excellent activities might include coloring spring pictures, or running thru a sprinkler if it is warm enough or you could decorate cupcakes to look like spring things

For my sons 1st birthday last year we played pin the hat on Pablo (from The Backyardagins.) I just found a picture of Pablo and blew it up, my sister has a pretty excellent hand at drawing so she drew me cowboy hats (cowboy theme) and the kids taped the hats on the Huge picture. you could do something like pin the leaves on the flower, or make bugs with pipe cleaners and fluff balls and googly eyes. we also played bingo. You can make your own bingo cards with flower and bug pictures. We also made sucker topieries. Get a round or triangular styrofoam piece, a dowrod strong enough to support it, and a flat piece to place in the bottom. Place the styrofoam piece on top of the rod and the flat piece on the bottom glue it into a flower pot of some kind. once its dry, place suckers of all kinds and sizes into the top piece cover the bottom styrofoam piece with plastic wrap and cover with chocolate pudding crush chocolate cookies and poor into the bottom of the flower pot place gummy worms in it to look like dirt and worms. hang them over the side and wiggling through the dirt. makes a excellent center piece the kids can eat.
