We are looking to spend approximately $3 per child (35 kids). If you suggest football cards, any excellent website to buy packs of 2007 cards (not too much available on ebay)? Also, small footballs are an option – but they tend to be pretty cheap for that price.
Thanks for the tips.
Question your child if he/she has any thoughts – they might reckon that some of your thoughts are "lame" or something like that. He/she might have a really specific thought about what THEY want. At least I did as a child…. if they really don’t care then try this:
Try ebay. Some people will sell bulk party items for CHEAP, CHEAP CHEAP! Type in "sport party favors" or just "party favors".
Try visiting a party store that just sells stuff for parties. You can buy huge bags of cheap favors for like $3 a bag with about 12 favors in them. You could buy football shaped slinkys, football pencils, football-shaped erasers, football bouncy balls.
Also, try looking at the Dollar Store. You might really find some excellent and cheap items there.
Make some of your own stuff – bake some football-shaped cookies and decorate them or make some brownies that are shaped like footballs.

let the kid pick -party favors are a treat and not really needed. focus more on having fun.

They have tons of inexpensive party favors there.
Hmmm…it might be trading rather than trader, though.
I bought all of our outdoor wedding favors & decorations from them. Shipping is free with a $50+ order.

well I don’t know about what toys you should do(mine was always toy cars personally), but I would suggest that you make up some simple games or something that they can compete in. Then you can give the stuff away as prizes (and everyone can still get a prize, it’s just the nice thing to do after all). Hope you like the thought.
