First off, for the plates, plasticware and cups, use 100% recycable plastics. For the fruits and veggies, try going organic, and cut back on the use of paper decorations. If you buy paper based decorations get ‘green’ ones, products that are chlorine free, recyable or recycled even. If you haven’t done the invites yet for the shower, make them yourself out of recycable, chlorine free paper too.
I’m going as ‘green’ as possible for my wedding too :)

They make fantastic small pieces of recycled paper, embossed with seeds so when planted, they will grow a tree or flowers etc. Maybe find these and use as favors, or a placecard for each guest. I got one that was shaped like a bell at Christmas time that was an ornament also. You were supposed to plant it after Christmas! Very clever!

Use real dishes, linens, and napkins — no paper or plastic, even the recyclable ones.
    Organic foods.
Hold it outdoors if possible, or in a room with natural sunlight.
Use recycled or scrap paper for games.
Favors could be seeds or tiny plants (help purify the air).
