Let’s Get Crafty: Bridal Shower or Housewarming Towel Cake

2 Lets Get Crafty: Bridal Shower or Housewarming Towel CakeYou’ll need 2 washclothes, 2 hand towels, 2 towels and 6 tea towels. Make sure they are VERY thick, or add more towels, etc. You’ll also need some corsage pins, coordinating ribbons and whatever sort of embellishments you want to add to it.

Please note, I just threw this craft together. It was not for anyone, so it is not really what I would make to give to someone. I just needed a few new towels and figured I should just throw this craft together since I had them groundbreaking new. The tea towels I’ve had for about two years now waiting to do another craft. Yowza. Maybe soon.

These can be used as housewarming gifts or bridal shower gifts. Lovely handmade gifts from the heart :)

You do such a excellent job on these craft videos! I like the crafts that you choose. The two diaper cakes that you made for the baby showers were gorgeous, and this bridal shower cake would be so much fun to decorate! Thanks Beth.:)))

    Yes, you can do …
Yes, you can do lots more. As I clarified in the video, I wasn’t making this for anything other than a tutorial on how to place the cake together. I wasn’t giving it to anyone. If I was, you can bet I would have gone out to find a ton more embellishments and hooked it up right.

When I took the baby shower cake, I place it in one of those huge plastic see-through bags (the type you use around fruit baskets/easter baskets, etc) and tied the top up very tight. When I got there, I just took it out of the bag. It did very well :)

Really now that I reckon about it, the best place to find a clean towel here would be the pile on top of the dryer. When the washer’s spin cycle is so out of balance and they bounce off, that means they have aired out enough to go back in the closet. ;)

  20. 2TheLeftOfNoWhere says:

    LOL, no. I was …
LOL, no. I was joking about the rolling part and putting them away. I mean I’ve done it before where they show just to make a nice show but then the bulk of the “work” towels get folded like you say, as small as possible.

I’ll have to keep my eye open for the rose soaps. They’re about the size of a tea candle, maybe a small larger.

  21. silverscreamgrl says:

    You roll your …
You roll your towels? I tend to like to buy huge fluffy towels, so I try to get them as small as possible to fit into the closet. I don’t know that I’ve seen small rose shaped soaps. I do have a book that has an fascinating looking soap with fake flowers in it. I’ll have to look at that again.

I agree that they’d make very cute centerpieces, except that the height would inhibit talking across the table. Maybe just two layers would do in that case!

I loved the colors too!! I was looking for just a small brighter green, but that was all I had. I had already done the blue/brown on the baby cake (which is a color combo I just adore lately), and I wanted to try something a small different :)
